Confidently, a new service for college students and recent graduates, has officially launched at www.confidently.co. Their purpose is to connect all college students with employers. Not just after their college career, but throughout it, leading them to the job they really want after college.
They believe the world has changed for Generation Y, and it’s time for an online job search service to help them change with it.
Real Entry-Level Jobs and Internships. No exceptions.
Confidently is not about finding hundreds of generic job posts from big corporations and blasting away resumes. It’s about finding the right job. That’s why Confidently started with the simple declaration that all job posts must be screened. First to ensure the position is real, and second to check that it doesn't require previous work experience.
The result is a job site with only entry-level jobs and internships, and zero scams or spam. It’s free pizza to the college student who has spent hours on other big job boards, helplessly looking for a single job post that fits.
Find Jobs at Small Businesses, Too
The team at Confidently (who are recent college grads themselves) also realized that there are a slew of great opportunities for college students and grads at small businesses. These opportunities typically go unfound, especially for students with only a small professional network.
To make sure these small companies joined the Confidently community, the team decided to flip the traditional industry model on its head. Instead of charging employers to post, Confidently offers free job posts for employers, and instead charges a small one-time membership fee of $7.99 to job seekers that sign-up.
Not Free, But More Than Worth It
In exchange, the members (job seeking college students) not only get to browse and apply to pre-screened job posts, they also get contacted by employers interested in them.
Confidently knew that today’s employers want hires to have specific skills and interests, especially when it comes to millennials. So the team developed an Employee Search, where employers can find and contact Confidently members based on information in their profile.
And this is where the Confidently purpose comes full circle. Today’s generation of college students can’t rely on yesterday’s career model—go to college, earn your diploma, and a cushy job with a 401K will be waiting. Today, college students need to be building relationships with employers before they graduate. With the Employee Search and a focus on student internships, Confidently is in a position to spark those connections.
