Description: The product line management team has three distinct missions: 1) Develop all marketing materials that support technical and commercial preference of Corning products to our customers throughout the value chain. Leverage Corning’s experience and knowledge of optical networks, understand customer needs and purchasing decision factors, and establish a strategy to communicate Corning’s advantage.
Gain a deep understanding of trends in: Market dynamics top-line growth and product mixCompetitive dynamics their strengths/weaknesses and cost positionsTechnology trends in optical networks and cabling processesR+D Capabilities
2) Develop the long-term business plan and technology roadmap for all the products in Corning Optical Fiber’s portfolio
3) Maximize coordination amongst all the functional areas that support each product line
Essential Duties and Responsibilitis
Become the local subject matter expert on our products:
How they are made and characterized…and what drives the cost structure
How they are used by customers…and how do we create value with our technology
Match customer requirements/requests with manufacturing capabilities
Ensuring optimal pricing for all activities
Develop innovative market strategies for entry into new markets and regions; make recommendations to senior leadership
Coordinate with manufacturing facilities to maximize customer service, as measured by delivery performance
Answer technical questions involving applications of the products for our customers and our account managers
Lead multi-functional teams working on product initiatives
Develop analysis and materials to support the Corning value proposition….convince customers they should buy Corning

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or hard science
Advanced degree in engineering, science, or MBA preferred
Experience and Skills:
3~5 year experience in marketing, operations, or R+D in a high-tech field
Ability to understand technical systems/operations and identify opportunities to use innovation to create value
Strong analytical skills, must be very comfortable with numbers and have the ability to interpret data
Outstanding presentation and communication skills, to include presenting to large audiences
Ability to create alignment across functional departments and action plans to support strategies
Effective in global communication and teambuilding - language, cultural, business practices
